In 1870, Children's Hospital opened its doors to provide health care for the large number of children orphaned by the Civil War. One-hundred-and-thirty years later, we're still the only health system in the region dedicated exclusively to the health care of children. Only now, we do everything from offering regular doctors visits and health education, to curing cancer and healing heart problems. And we do it for children around the world.
Our mission is to be preeminent in providing health care services that enhance the health and well-being of children regionally, nationally and internationally. Through leadership and innovation, Children's will create solutions to pediatric health care problems. To meet the unique health care needs of children, adolescents and their families, Children's will excel in Care, Advocacy, Research and Education.
Through our hospital, our primary care centers, our suburban specialty care centers and our research institute, Children's continues its commitment to kids. But don't take our word for it, explore our website, learn about all the wonderful things we do for children and judge for yourself. Enjoy!
