  General Support Services
Assist hospital staff with non-medical tasks such as filing, making appointments, greeting clinic patients, assisting in research labs, fundraising/special projects, serving at the Welcome Desk, and as a messenger within the hospital. Placements are on weekdays between 9am and 5pm.

Patient Care
Provide support and diversional, age-appropriate activities for the patients and their families. Volunteers will work one-to-one or in groups with the children. Patient care volunteers must be over 18 years of age. Volunteers do not have access to patient diagnosis or perform any nursing/clinical procedures.

Application and Training
CNMC volunteers will attend one orientation meeting, have a personal interview, and complete all training. Volunteers must also complete a background investigation, provide a completed health form (including a current PPD test and proof of an MMR immunization), and provide two or more personal references. Patient care volunteers also complete a mandatory 20-hour training period that includes rotations on the patient care units. There are both day and evening training sessions that are held three or four times each year.
